Institute of Leadership Excellence

The Institute of Leadership Excellence provides a unique, multidisciplinary, total-immersion experience in leadership and leadership development for promising juniors and seniors from across the university. Students participate in a highly intensive and remarkably unique experience involving a carefully designed sequence of lectures, discussions, and activities focused on developing your understanding of and ability to apply critical leadership principles and skills. In addition, they develop personal action plans for their own leadership growth that they can begin to implement following the Institute.

The Institute of Leadership Excellence is offered during Summer Session I and is designed to be purposefully intense. To provide the right kind of experience for students, the Institute requires that students attend morning, afternoon, and evening sessions most days. It involves significantly more clock hours than the typical three-credit-hour course, but it also provides a remarkably unique experience.
