The club is located in Murfreesboro, Tenn., and is open to all members of Middle Tennessee State University's Campus Recreation Center age 18 or over. MTMS is governed by United States Masters Swimming (USMS), an "organization of over 38,000 men and women from age 18 to 100." (That's more people than the entire US Coast Guard.) You don't have to be an elitist swimmer (yet). You don't have to compete. You don't have to wear the tiny competition suit we're going to give you. And you don't even have to show up for practice. You do need to fall somewhere between "dog-paddler" and "Lenny Krayzelburg / Amy Van Dyken." And you do need to love swimming. |
