MTSU Student Chapter ASID Faculty Advisor
Ms. Belcher is an assistant professor in the Interior Design Program and is the faculty advisor for the MTSU Student Chapter American Society of Interior Designers. She is a Registered Interior Designer in the State of Tennessee, #156. For the 2004-2005 academic year, Ms. Belcher was the MTSU Executive Vice President and Provost Fellow. Prior to joining the MTSU faculty in 1991, Ms. Belcher taught in the Environmental Design (Interiors) program at Syracuse University. She has an A.S. from Young Harris College, a B.S. in History with an emphasis in Historic Preservation from MTSU, an undergraduate equivalent in Interior Design and an M.F.A. in Interior Design from the University of Georgia in Athens. She has also completed additional post-graduate course work in higher education. Ms. Belcher is a Professional Member of the Interior Design Educators' Council (IDEC), an Allied Education Member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), a member of the Environmental Design Research Association (EDRA) and Tennessee Interior Design Coalition (TIDC). Ms. Belcher received the ASID 1995 Education Award from the Tennessee Chapter. She is also a design consultant specializing in reuse of existing structures, day care facility design, elderly care facility design, aging in place, residential design and health care facility design. Ms. Belcher has presented on a local, state, and international level.
