Mountain Lake Colloquium 10th anniversary Keynote speaker:
Nel Noddings

Nel Noddings is the Jacks Professor Emeriti of Child Education at Stanford University and currently holds the John W. Porter Chair in Urban Education at Eastern Michigan University. She gained her doctorate in educational philosophy from Stanford University.

Her research, experience and teaching as she has served on faculties of Pennsylvania State University, University of Chicago, Stanford University, and Columbia University shaped her philosophy of caring and its place in ethics. She is an accomplished author of books like Caring: A Feminine Approach to Ethics and Moral Education (1984), Women and Evil (1989), The Challenge to Care in Schools (1992), Philosophy of Education, Educating for the Intelligent Belief or Unbelief (1995), Starting at Home: Caring and Social Policy (2002), and Educating Moral People (2002), Happiness and Education (2003).
