Lucile Doersch, District Music Supervisor - Lucile was my first mentor as an elementary music educator. She had a remarkable knowledge of how to teach music to children and was an advocate for staff development. She had a strong vision for what constituted an effective program and made sure that we had the resources and physical support to teach well. Early on, she encouraged me to share what I had learned during my post master's training with my teaching colleagues, setting me on a path of presenting workshops long before I thought I was ready to do such things. I remember my time under her guidance as halcyon and as a time of being stretched as well as supported.
