Dr. Rosemary Watkins has been my mentor since I first met her way back when I was naive undergraduate music education student at UTSA. She was always a consummate professional who let me know when I needed to improve, but never forgot to tell me when I did well. If not for her and her endlessly wonderful stories about her own music teaching, I am sure that I would have left this field before I even began. She saw in me someone who needed more and gave it. She was my mentor through an undergraduate degree, a masters degree and thesis, and though I was at FSU for the Ph.D. and had a wonderful mentor there, I could always count on a positive encouraging note from Rosemary. Today, she is one of my most trusted advisors because I know she will tell me the truth! Thank you always Rosemary!
