About Us N.S.A.I. is a not-for-profit organization established by Nashville songwriters in 1967. Its stated mission is to protect songwriters' rights & the future of the profession; elevate & motivate the songwriter; act as a unifying force in the music community and community at large. Workshop goals are to further the craft of songwriting, disseminate industry information, & participate as an effective organization within the industry. NSAI of MTSU is the first ever student chapter of the NSAI. We were recognized as an official student organization by MTSU and NSAI in March 2003. The driving force that led to our inception must be credited to Professor, Hal Newman who continues to work tirelessly to support extracurricular activities related to the Recording Industry, and specifically to the craft of songwriting. Student members of the NSAI are entitled to the same benefits as their industry peers, and you should visit the NSAI parent web site to learn more about its activities and the full benefits of membership. |
