Using Technology to Prepare for Your Career
February 19-20, 2009

Our theme this year, Using Technology to Prepare for Your Career, will give both adult students and the educational professionals who work with them, some new insights about the latest technology for preparing students to enter their chosen career. Dr. Raylean Henry, the Executive Director of Operations for the Regents Online Campus Collaborative (ROCC), will share some of the latest services available in the state of Tenneessee for residents looking for a job. Her primary responsibilities include the coordination of central operations for all ROCC programs. Dr. Henry received her Doctorate of Education from Tennessee State University with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Henry was the Director of the Regents Online Continuing Education (ROCE) program for 3 ½ years before becoming the Executive Director of Operations. Before coming to the Regents Online Campus Collaborative, Dr. Henry was the Director of Continuing Education at Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Students Encouraged to Attend the Conference
We also want to encourage you to bring as many students as you possibly can to this conference because the theme is designed to help them develop awareness of new programs and services available online at colleges and state agencies in Tennessee. We have arranged a discounted conference fee for students and the hotel will allow sharing up to four persons at the same room rate. We believe that if every institution brings at least one student to the conference, it will have a phenomenal effect across our region. If you can bring more students, your institution will benefit even more.

Conference Registration
We must receive your registration form and check for the conference fee no later than February 6, 2009 to confirm food and other arrangements and to be able to send you the detailed schedule, directions, and parking instructions. Participants who send registration forms arriving after that date may not receive this information in time. If the check from your institution will not be available on time, please fill out the registration form on our website or FAX the form to 615-898-5211 and then bring the check with you to registration.

Hotel Accommodations
The hotel deadline is January 19, 2009. We suggest that you call them directly to make your reservations right away. The Doubletree Hotel is once again our conference hotel. Single rooms are $70.00; doubles are $90.00, plus all necessary taxes, of course. Be sure to make your reservations by January 19, 2009, to guarantee your room at the conference rate. The block of rooms will be released after that and you will pay the regular rate, if any rooms are still available. Call 615-895-5555 to make your reservations. Be sure to tell them you are with the Adult Learning Conference at MTSU to receive the special conference rate.

Directions to Campus and Parking Instructions: We will mail all participants who register by the February 6th deadline the detailed parking information, including a map. If you need special parking arrangements, please let us know.
