SERVICES: SUPPORT
The Off-Campus Student Services office provides adult learners with various support
services to assist them in managing their busy lifes.
Support Groups
At this time, informal support groups occur at various times at
the office. The staff can put you in touch with
more formal support groups on the campus as they develop.
Personal
Counseling
The Off-Campus Student Services office is often a place where students meet
others and can feel comfortable with each other. Personal problems
may be shared and solutions offered by fellow students. If more
serious counseling is needed, the staff of the center will recommend
that a student go to Counseling
and Testing Services.
Child Care and Evening Child Care
Off-Campus Student Services, the Association of Faculty and Administrative
Women (AFAW), and the Administrative Services Office of MTSU have
been working on improving the childcare offerings at MTSU for
some time now. There is limited childcare on campus for 3-5 year old children.
We also have evening care available for school-age children as
well as pre-school children through the consortium. For the details,
click here to go to the Child Care
section of the Handbook.
Housing
Adult learners may apply to live in campus housing for single
students, or family housing for those who are married and/or have
children. Off-Campus Student Services has application forms for
housing and family housing. See the Housing and Residential Life website for more information. Those who want to rent off-campus
housing should check out the Off-Campus Housing website.
Community
Resources
Adult learners needing services which are provided by other community
resources may come to Off-Campus Student Services where we will
consult a directory of community services and refer them to the
appropriate agency.
