Administrative Policies
The purpose of the Phillips Bookstore is to make available to the student body, University personnel and departments the materials and services that characterize good college bookstores.

The Bookstore exists to serve the University community. Although Phillips Bookstore will not seek the patronage of the general public, such patronage is not rejected.

The selling prices in the Bookstore will not be so low as to bring it into unfair competition with commercial enterprises that offer equal or similar merchandise, nor will the prices charged be higher than appropriate and required by good business practices.

Because it is University-owned, the Bookstore must be managed as a part thereof; yet it must be self supporting and enjoy all the disadvantages and advantages of similar privately-operated establishments, including obtaining approval of all purchases, maintaining an internal system of accounting, managing the recruitment and dismissal of personnel, meeting operation expenses, and reflecting in its accounts the depreciation of furnishings and equipment.

The Bookstore's principal objective is to service not philanthropy; commercial profit shall not be its objective. It is recognized, nevertheless, that profits may accrue.

Privacy Statement
Your privacy is important to Phillips Bookstore. When you order items online from Phillips Bookstore, you are asked for information such as:

• First name and last name
• Mailing address
• Billing address
• Email address
• Payment information*

We use the information you provide about yourself when making an online purchase to fulfill that request, and for our internal accounting and other information-keeping records related to your purchases. We respect your privacy; therefore we do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete your requests.

We use return e-mail addresses to answer the e-mail we receive. Your e-mail addresses are not shared with outside parties. We use your shipping address, to the extent it is different from your mailing address, to ship your orders as well as to send you information on our products. We use your telephone number for our sales and/or customer service representatives to contact you when you express an interest in our products or otherwise call you regarding your orders and information requests.

*Note: If you make your purchase using a credit card, Phillips Bookstore does not retain the card holder or card number information. Credit card purchases are made through PayPal. For more information, see secure shopping.

Secure Shopping
The security of your information, transactions, and money is our top priority. For merchandise purchases, we use PayPal.

PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to the PayPal server using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available). Before you even register or login, the server checks that you're using an approved browser - one that uses SSL 3.0 or higher.

Once your information reaches us, it resides on a server that is heavily guarded both physically and electronically. The PayPal servers sit behind an electronic firewall and are not directly connected to the Internet, so your private information is available only to authorized computers.

Merchandise Shipping
Your merchandise is shipped ground (FedEx or UPS) from Phillips Bookstore if you provide a street shipping address. Your merchandise is shipped ground (U.S. Postal Service) if you provide a post office box shipping address.

Returns & Refunds
Your merchandise is shipped via UPS or FedEx Ground from Phillips Bookstore if you provide a street shipping address. Your merchandise is shipped via the U.S. Postal Service if you provide a post office box shipping address. You may cancel your order within 24 hours of placement for a full refund (applied to your credit card). After 24 hours, you may return the merchandise to Phillips Bookstore at your shipping expense. Once Phillips Bookstore receives the merchandise, your PayPal account will be credited for the cost of the merchandise and applicable sales tax only. The address to return merchandise to is:
