SOAR SPECIFICATIONS

A full day is defined as when the teacher arrives and leaves. Students day starts and ends when the teacher's day starts and ends.
Students follow the school dress code.
Students spend time in 2 grade levels. (K-4) (5-8)
Students observe activities and experiences in the classroom.
Students interview 2 teachers and 1 principal during the SOAR experience. Interviews are with the 2 teachers and principal where the SOAR experience is completed.
Students are responsible for getting tthe teachers and principal signature on the SOAR Experience Form.
Students are responsible for completing a SOAR reflective document.
(one copy for ELED3050/3070 instructor, one copy for Admission to Teacher Education Panel , one copy for yourself)
SOAR Specifications

Students need to complete SOAR before entering ELED 3050/3070. It is a prerequisite for ELED 3050/3070.
Students need to have a current TB test and carry a MTSU ID Card.
Students arrange their own placements. (at this time)
Students may carry introduction letter from Dr. Jones to school.
Students spend 4 full days in a school, in different grade levels from beginning to the end of the school day. ( a total of 4 full days..may complete 2 consecutive observations in 1 week and 2 consecutive observations in another week)
