The Reading Academy is being funded by the Jennings and Rebecca Jones Foundation. The Jones family, realizing that the inability to read and to write is a lifelong, crippling handicap, has once again extended their generosity to the people of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County.

Our philosophy is everyone has the right to learn to read and write.

Our goals:

• Teachers will become knowledgeable of diagnostic reading tools and how to effectively use them with students.
  
• Teachers will become knowledgeable of reading remediation strategies and how to effectively use them with students.
  
• Students will work toward becoming more proficient readers and writers.
