Faculty and Staff

Twenty seven full-time faculty members and six full-time staff devote their unique skills to the education of future recording industry professionals. Faculty of the Recording Industry Department bring to the program a wide range of academic degrees, professional experience, and industry connections. Their knowledge covers many fields. For a program of this type, the Recording Industry Department at MTSU offers one of the largest and most diversified faculties in the world.

 

Professional Faculty

Every faculty member has some professional experience. This includes work as music engineers, mastering engineers, film sound engineers, live sound engineers, producers, arrangers, composers, songwriters, touring performers, and recording artists. Faculty have also worked in label A&R departments, marketing departments, publicity departments, and legal departments and for management and booking agencies, concert promoters, and venues. All actively serve as members of professional recording industry organizations within their particular fields of expertise. They also continue to be engaged in their own personal recording industry pursuits covering a wide range of musical styles and disciplines.
