Interdisciplinary Synergy Award
The purpose of this program is to foster scholarly synergies between faculty members in various disciplines. Under these interdisciplinary (or synergy) awards, a group of collaborating faculty can request either academic year or summer salary support or both. Up to five (5) awards may be made in a given academic year, depending upon funds availability, the quality of the proposal, and the degree to which the intent of these awards is satisfied. The maximum value of each award will be $20,000 per year. To ensure continuity and maximize the impact of FRCAC funds:
- Requests for up to two (2) consecutive years (total funding: $40,000) will be considered. Continuation awards will be approved according to the same principles and guidelines as in the multi-year Individual Awards defined above.
- Proposal must describe how the grant will make MTSU more competitive for external funding.
- Requests for supplies, materials, research-related travel, etc. will be supported.
- Application for Synergy Awards does not preclude the faculty from applying to other categories of grants awarded by FRCAC.
Social Work-related Award
This grant award category is intended to foster social work-related research and public service. These grants can be awarded to faculty in any discipline who propose a social work-related application of their scholarship to issues and problems relating to societal well being. The goal of these grants is to foster interdisciplinary participation in Research, Creative Activity, and Public Service projects related to social welfare problems.
