Journal Guidelines
The field of human genetics is expanding at an increasingly fast rate, so it is essential that we look in the news and current literature to have a full view of the field.  To do this you will keep a human genetics journal that is due on the class day following the test.  The journal will be graded three times at 50 points each for a total of 150 points.  The journal will include the following items:

Section 1
Problem-based learning sheets for each chapter
Section 2
Newspaper-type article concerning human genetics for each week with an abstract for a related primary scientific paper (the newspaper-type article should be no more than 1 month old)
Summary statement for each newspaper article, including relevance to past, present, or future course material
Section 3
Summary statement for each journal club, including relevance to past, present, or future course material
Section 4
Notes about both research and education projects

Summary statements should be no more than one single-spaced, typed page in length.
