Radio-Television
This program blends theoretical and "hands-on" approaches to electronic media education. Students choose a specialty area- electronic media journalism, electronic media management, electronic media production, digital animation- best fits their career goals.
Electronic Media Production
Takes place in television stations, production and post production houses, and corporate settings. Government agencies and the growing cable industry also need persons trained in these skills. Career options include producer, director, camera operator, studio director, field producer, audio/video editor, or script writer.
Electronic Media Journalism
Encompasses electronic news, reporting, and news management. News happens fast, and getting the story, making deadlines, and putting it on the air means being ready- at the scene and in the studio. Career options include news anchor, reporter, editor, writer, or researcher.
Electronic Media Management
Is work behind the scenes at stations in areas like programming, advertising and sales, and other aspects that combine the business and creative aspects of the industry. Career options include promotion planner, advertising manager, programmer, sales representative, station manager, marketing representative, or ratings analyst.
Digital Imaging and Animation
Offers preparation for work in the television and video graphics professions. The specialty area also includes photo digital imaging which is important to both the still photographer and the video animator. Students are encouraged to complete their education with internships in professional settings.
Digital Media Communication
An interdisciplinary concentration incorporating courses from Mass Communication, Art, Computer Science, and Marketing and Management.
Photography
This program emphasizes, but is not limited to, photography for the media, including editorial, assignment, corporate, advertising, public relations, documentary photography, digital imaging, and photojournalism. Graduates can also enter the field as studio owners, lab owners and operators, photographers' assistants, and freelance, architectural, and medical photographers.
