Placing equations in Word with MathType
(or Equation Editor
)
Start typing your problem within Word. For example, if you want your students
to solve for x in a particular problem, just type “Solve for x” and then
click on the MathType
or equation editor
icon. Type
your equation:

You can change the color, style, or size of the equation (only in MathType). Once you get the equation, go to File ->Save (or control S). The equation should appear in line with your text as shown below: Solve for x: If you want to make changes to your equation, just double click the equation, make your changes, and save your work. |

Note: In MathType, when you hover your cursor over a symbol, it will give you the shortcut key at the bottom.
