Student/Faculty Travel RequestSmall travel grants may be available to participants in the STEPMT program.
To be eligible to receive these funds the student and faculty member must...
- have participated in research funded by the STEPMT program (Academic Year Research, Summer Research, or STEP-IN).
- be presenting at the meeting or conference.
- submit a completed STEPMT Travel Request Form at least two weeks prior to the event.
Note: the STEPMT form is NOT a replacement for the standard MTSU Travel Forms and procedures. All STEPMT funded travel must follow MTSU travel regulations and a Travel Authorization must be filed prior to out of state travel. For other forms that may be required for travel, please visit the Business Office Forms web page. For more details on MTSU travel regulations, please visit the Provost Office Travel web page.
It should also be noted that when making larger travel requests the faculty member should seek out additional funding sources prior to completing the STEPMT form. Funding is also available at the Department, College, and University level and a request that includes a planned breakdown for the total travel (total travel = $1000, with $500 coming from my Department, $300 from the College, and $200 from STEPMT) will be given priority over one that does not. STEPMT will not commit funds to vague travel funding requests.
Right Click the link to the STEPMT form and select "Save Target As..." to save a copy of the MS Word document to your hard drive.
Completed forms should be sent to stepmt@mtsu.edu.
Electronic versions sent by email are preferred but a printed copy may be sent
by campus mail to STEPMT Box 83, faxed to STEPMT at 898-2615,
or dropped off in Jones Hall 159 when necessary.
