Ideas that Save Time

11:20 class Fall 2009

and

9:40 CLASS SPRING 2009

WAYS TO USE TIME PREVIOUSLY WASTED

Go to sleep earlier and wake up earlier.

Study with flash cards—have them with you everywhere.

Analyze what needs to get done and schedule a time to do it.

Carry Pocket Work everywhere!

Go over flashcards when eating or riding a stationary bike.

Eat breakfast on the way to school or have an easy to fix breakfast.

Do things right the first time.

Study when waiting for class to start.

Have minute tasks set aside to when there is only a little time. (Divide a big project into smaller tasks.)

Exercise!

Watch less TV, surf the internet less. Set time for those programs that you really want.

Have a set time to hang with friends.  Or set a time that the gang does homework together.

Make use of your PRIME time.

Study between classes-- even if it's just a paragraph from assigned reading.

Take notes in class and make flashcards from them so you are ready for a test any time.

WAYS TO DO THE SAME TASK IN LESS TIME

Fill in answers to Summary AS YOU ARE READING the Summary --not when you have finished the chapter.

Prepare clothes and equipment the night before.

Turn off the TV.

Have a set study place.

Use a calculator for math homework.

Multi task (Be sure to analyze that you can multi-task and what needs you full concentration.)

Do math homework in the math lab.

Read ahead.

Reading the assignment before class makes it easier to take notes.

Make a to do list each night.

Do NOT try to get homework while doing something else. Concentrate on only one task at a time.

Schedule times for errands. Do them all at one "run."

Study in the library where there are less distractions.

Do an assignment immediately after class.

Study hardest subject first.
