A three-year program of summer institutes at MTSU designed specifically to implement the new American history curriculum standards outlined in the Tennessee State Dept. of Education Social Studies Curriculum Standards for Teaching American History for grades 4, 5, 8, and high school.

Participating teachers will receive a $500 stipend to defray institute expenses and may apply for stipends to help pay costs associated with developing new curriculum materials for teaching American history.
