The Legacy of Stones River Symposium will be held on Saturday October 22, 2005.

The theme of the 2005 Legacy of Stones River Symposium will be "Occupation and the Home Front in Tennessee." The symposium addresses civilian life in Tennessee during the Civil War. This one-day event combines scholarly perspectives and public programming to provide new insights into the experience of living in a war zone. The conference is sponsored by National Park Service, Eastern National, Tennessee Civil War National Heritage Area, Center for Historic Preservation, Middle Tennessee State University, Department of History, Middle Tennessee State University, Teaching American History: Cumberland River Valley Consortium and Discover TAHO!.

Travel Stipend Information and Application [doc] [pdf]
Teachers who participate in TAH summer institutes are eligible for professional development travel stipends to attend local, state, and national conferences that focus on the scholarship and teaching of American history. All stipends are awarded on a reimbursement basis.
