Here are some of the most common questions that I am asked by students.

**********************************************

What are your office hours?

My office hours change every semester. As a rule, I arrive at 7:00 AM and leave about 4:30 PM every day. Normally, I am available to answer questions from 7:00 - 9:00 AM every day. I am also available at various times during the day. Every semester, I post my current schedule on the door of my office.

If I can't find you in your office, where can I look for you?

If I am not in my office then I am probably somewhere in Wiser Patten Science or the Davis Science Building. My research lab is on the second floor of DSB, room 214.
On Tuesdays, we normally have a department meeting at 11:00 AM. On Thursdays, we normally have seminar at 11:00 AM. I will not be available to students at these times.

What kind of tests do you give?

I give tests that contain short answer questions and problems. I never give true and false, matching or multiple choice tests. For the 100 level chemistry and physical science courses, my test questions are very similar (and in some cases exactly the same as) assigned homework problems.

*********************************************

Will you post my grades outside your office door?

No. I do not post grades. When I have your final grade, I turn it in to the records office. Call TRAM for your final grade.

*********************************************

What if I call you on the telephone or send you an email, will you give me my grades that way?

NO. I can't give out any student information over the telephone or by email. On the other hand, if you come to my office, I will be happy to give you your grades in person.

********************************************

Do you give back the tests after you grade them?

Absolutely! Once I have graded the tests, I return them to the students as soon as possible (normally the class period following the test). In fact, many times I am unable to return tests because the student will not be in class for several days following a test.

********************************************

Do you post the answer keys to your tests and quizzes?

Absolutely!. The answer keys are posted outside of my office door. I leave the keys posted until the next exam, when the old key is taken down and the new key posted.
