Physical Science 1030 (PSCI 1030)

Physical Science 1030 (Topics in Physical Science) is a one semester 4 credit general science course. This course meets part of the general education requirements for graduation from MTSU. The course consists of 3 hours of lecture per week and one laboratory per week.

The textbook is "An Introduction to Physical Science", Shipman, Wilson, and Todd. The required laboratory manual is "Experiments in Physical Science, 1st edition, Wakid & Wind. Both of these books are available in the bookstore or at Blue Raider.

We will cover chapters on physics and chemistry and if time permits on geology, astronomy and meteorology. Students are required and expected to read the the chapters, especially the first ten chapters. I do not assign specific homework problems: do as much of the homework as you feel necessary, in order to become proficient in making the calculations covered in the chapters.

Students are strongly encouraged to attend class every day, because all material covered on the tests will be covered in class. If you miss a day (or more), you should talk with one of your class mates to get caught up. I will NOT lend you my class notes.
