The Tennessee Academy of Science sponsors a peer-reviewed journal containing research articles, information about the Academy, minutes of Executive Committee meetings, budget information, abstracts of papers presented at annual meetings, and collegiate abstracts. The Journal of the Tennessee Academy of Science is edited by Dr. Stephen J. “Steve” Stedman.

It is mailed to all members not in arrears for dues. The cost of a regular membership is $30. Cost of single copies of back issues is $10 each and requests should be directed to Dr. Steve Murphree, TAS Treasurer, Biology Dept., Belmont University, 1900 Belmont Blvd., Nashville, TN 37212-3757.

Manuscripts for publication in the journal should be submitted via the online manuscript submission website (see below). Manuscripts must be approved by the editor and at least two appropriate reviewers before publication. Manuscripts should be word-processed, double-spaced with wide margins, provided with captions for figures and tables on a separate page, and supplied with an abstract not to exceed 250 words. Each figure and table should be submitted as a separate graphics file (see below). Recent issues of the journal should be consulted with regard to matters of style. Greek letters and symbols should be avoided as much as possible.

Before submitting a manuscript to the journal, please gather the following information and create the following electronic files:
• All Authors
o First Names, Middle Names/Initials, Last Names
o Institutions
o Departments
o Phone and Fax Numbers
o Street Addresses
o E-mail Addresses
• Title and Running Title (you may copy and paste these from your manuscript)
• Abstract (you may copy and paste this from your manuscript)
• Key words
• Manuscript files in Word, WordPerfect, or Text formats
• Figures/Images in TIF, EPS, PDF, or JPG formats
• Tables in XLS [Excel] or DOC formats

Then go to this website
http://jtas.allentrack2.net
and click on Register Here; follow the instructions to register, being sure to create and to remember your login name and password.
Then login and read the page of Author Instructions.
Then go through the manuscript submission process.
