Charge to the Research Committee

 

Encourage, initiate, and engage in research

Conduct surveys to identify current program trends, problems, and needs.

Serving as a vehicle through which members may cooperate in research programs.

Identify needed areas of research for field based programs and encourage and facilitate such research.

Provide a report to the Forum at each annual, spring conference.

Charge to the Membership Committee

 

Promote membership in the National Field Directors Forum.

Provide an accurate, on-line directory of all field directors in the United States.

Provide a report to the Forum at each annual conference.

Charge to the Program/Hospitality Committee

 

Send out call for papers for spring and summer conferences in a timely manner.

Receive and conduct a blind review of all proposals for spring and summer conferences.  Notify applicants of the results of the review.

In conjunction with the executive committee, arrange for and host (or arrange hosts for) all National Field Directors Forum meetings and events at the spring and summer conferences.

Charge to the NCATE Committee

 

By the spring conference in 2005, produce a document and any other appropriate aids that would assist Forum members in writing a quality document for NCATE Standard 3, Field Experiences, for their respective institutions.

Charge to Bylaws Committee

 

Review and rewrite the bylaws for the National Field Directors Forum. 

Present the changes at the 2004 summer conference and request, collect, and consider input from the attendees. 

Prepare a draft of the bylaws and disseminate it to the membership through the fall 2004 newsletter and the Forum’s website.  Request input from the members.

In conjunction with the executive committee, prepare and present a final draft of the bylaws to the Forum membership for their vote at the 2005 spring conference.

The Publications Committee is co-chaired by the secretary, Nancy Norris-Bauer, and the newsletter editor, Ellie Herman.  This committee is responsible for the dissemination of the minutes, newsletter, and other publications produced by the Forum.

The Distinguished Service Committee is chaired by the past chair, Mike Perl.  It is convened at such time that the executive committee deems it appropriate to present an award for distinguished service.
