Assignment 1 (This is part of your unit plan)
1.
Writing
Lesson Plans
a. Locate and List lesson-planning sites for your
subject (with brief description of site).
b. Locate the Tennessee Department of Education website
and view your subject area curriculum benchmarks for the state.
c. Select the area that you will develop for the
unit to be taught. Then locate learning
goals and objectives for that unit.
d. Download the goals and objectives for your unit.
(You do not have to retype from the state department’s website)
e. Turn in the goals and
objectives for your unit and the lesson-plan sites you discovered with a brief
description of each site (2 to 5 sites).

2. Classroom Management
a. Do a web search on Barbara Coloroso.
b. List sites and resources found concerning the noted classroom
management lecturer. (2 to 3 sites)
c. Watch the “Barbara Coloroso Winning at Teaching”
video on reserve in the LRC.
d. Listen for all the points listed on the handout and then add, on a
separate sheet of paper, other important points that may not be noted on the
handout.
e. Hand-in the websites found with brief description of
the content and the additional points of importance on the Coloroso video.
(Should be 1 to 2 typed pages in total)

7 Habits of Highly Ineffective Educators” in the LRC tape library
b.
Do a web search for habits of a highly effective educators
c.
Turn in an overview of the video, listing important points teachers
should know about effective behavior (handout).
d.
List 4 professional education websites that discuss effective habits of
educators. Giving effective habits from
each website listed.
e.
(Should be 2 to 3 typed pages in total)

a. Script a parent – teacher
conference between you and a perspective parent(s).
The student you will be discussing is an
average student but has no motivation to work at his/her potential.
b. Use the Internet to find
sites that give proper procedures for parent – teacher conferences.

d. Reference all sources used in
