Ideas and activities

Have students log the use of their time for a week. Then in class, complete the Time Use Analysis sheet. Directions for the Instructor are included.

Bring the aids to good time management you use: lists, calendars, planners, etc.

Fill out the master schedule.

Have students bring syllabi from each class and have a schedule book available to check the date of all finals. Fill out a calendar or planner (a good academic planner is available at the bookstore for about $2.50) with deadlines for projects and tests.

Assignments and Follow-up

Have students finish the Master schedule and calendar.

Have students log how well they can keep to their new schedule.

Periodically check the planners to see that students are keeping them up to date.

As a result of these activities, will you make any changes in the way you use your time?
