Books are the carriers of civilization. Without books, history is silent, literature dumb, science crippled, thought and speculation at a standstill. They are engines of change, windows on the world (as a poet said), lighthouses erected in the sea of time. They are companions, teachers, magicians, bankers of the treasures of the mind. Books are humanity in print. -Barbara Tuchman

The
Library is an important part of feeling settled at MTSU--a sort of home
away from home. Its welcoming environment provides a comfortable place
for discovery and growth.
The
power of the Library can greatly enhance a college education. Now there
is a way to recognize this journey and, at the same time, support strong
library resources.
Only
a portion of the University's needs are met through state funds. The University's
Student
Book
Honor
Program
allows parents, guardians, family members, and friends to highlight individual
student achievement and, at the same time, enhance resources in the Library
for all students.
Gifts
go directly toward purchasing books for the Library. Each book purchased
will contain a special bookplate with the student's and donor's names and
an acknowledgement of each gift will be sent to the student being recognized.
Each gift
will be a vote of confidence for students and a welcome gesture of support
for Library collections at MTSU. |
