Downloading and Saving Files

You can download individual messages by clicking the Download button in the Message window. Alternately, you can select a group of messages in the Main view and compile them into one downloadable file.

Note: Both individual and compiled messages are downloaded as text files. They can be read using a text editor, such as Notepad, or opened in Microsoft Word.

To download a single discussion posting:

  1. From the Discussions table, click the topic that contains the message you want to download.
  2. The Messages screen appears.
  3. Click the desired message.
  4. Click Download. Your browser’s file download window appears.
  5. Select the Save as option and choose the saving location.
  6. When the download is complete, click Close to exit the Message window.

To compile and download files

  1. From the Discussions table, click the topic that contains the messages that you want to compile and download. The Messages screen appears.
  2. Select the messages to choose from.
    1. To choose from all messages, click All
    2. To choose from all unread messages, click Unread
  3. Select the order in which the messages will be presented.
    1. For chronological order, click Unthreaded.
    2. For threaded, click Threaded. (Threads are created when someone replies to a message. The first message is shown with the subject above; the reply is shown underneath and is indented under the original message.)
    3. Click on individual postings, threads or select all by clicking on the square in front of the "Subject" column label.
  4. From the Action Bar at the bottom of the page, select Compile.
  5. The Compiled Messages window opens, displaying the selected messages.
  6. Click Download. Your browser’s file download window appears.
  7. Select the Save to disk option and choose the saving location.
  8. When the download is complete, click Close to exit the Compiled Messages window.
