Using WebCT > Course Templates

Note: Do not unzip the Template file before uploading it into a WebCT course.

Note!!: Using a Template will erase all information in the course except for the students enrolled in the course.

1. Locate the template_backup file you wish to use from the list to the right
2. Right click and when prompted, choose "Save target as..."
3. Save the file to your hard drive (or other storage device)
4. Login to your blank WebCT shell
5. Click on the Control Panel Button
6. Click on Manage Course
7. Click the Upload backup link
8. Browse to locate the template_backup file you previously downloaded from the web site
9. When you find the file click once to highlight it and then click the Open button.
10. Click the Upload button

The server may take awhile to upload your backup depending on how much course materials it contains.

When the server is finished uploading your back up it will appear in the backups list as shown below.

The time required to upload a course backup depends on the file size as well as on the speed of the Internet connection of both the server and your computer.
