Issues

  1. Pop-up blocker is installed. User is given a notification by sound and the Microsoft Explorer information bar will be displayed near the top of the user’s window confirming the blocked Pop-up.

    1. Solution one disable the Pop-up Blocker:
      1. Open Internet Explorer
      2. Under the Tools menu, select Internet Options...
      3. Click on the Privacy Tab
      4. Un-check the box next to Block pop-ups
      5. Uncheck box
      6. Click OK
    2. b. Solution two if you want to keep the Pop-up blocker active but allow WebCT pop-ups :
      1. Open Internet Explorer
      2. Under the Tools menu, select Pop-Blocker
      3. Pop-up Blocker settings…
      4. Under address of Web site to allow: type in https://mtsu30.mtsu.edu
      5. Type address into settings
      6. Click the add button
  2. Downloading of files is blocked. User is given a notification by sound and the Microsoft Explorer information bar will be displayed near the top of the user’s window confirming the file was blocked.
    1. Solution one - Use the Microsoft Explorer information bar to selectively allow the file to download. Click the information bar and select “Download file..”

    2. Solution two – To permanently allow file downloads.
      1. Open Internet Explorer
      2. Under the Tools menu, select Internet Options...
      3. Select the Security tab
      4. Click on the “Custom Level” button.
      5. Set “Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls”, “Automatic Prompting for file downloads” and “File download” to “Enable”.
