Tips & Tricks > Submit a Presentation

The Student Presentations Tool, sometimes called Group Presentation Tool, creates a private space in the Managed Files area for student groups. This special, private filing area allows students to upload and exchange files. The main application of this tool is for students to share files to create a group project either for presentation to the instructor or to the class.

  1. Step 1 The Student Presentation Tool
    1. Click on the Presentations Tool either by selecting the link from the Course Menu or selecting the icon from one of your course pages.
      NOTE: Your instructor may have changed the name of this tool so confirm with him/her the actual name
  2. Step 2 Presentation Tool Options
    Select "Edit Files" next to the group name to upload your files.
    NOTE: This option will not be available to you if you have not been assigned to a group.
    Note: The first page, home page, of you presentation needs to be called index.html
    Also Note: You may also click on the Mail icon to send email to members of the group.
  3. Step 3 Uploading Files
    1. Under the Action menu on the right, click Upload.
    2. Click Go
      NOTE: WebCT only allows you to upload one file at a time. You may want to consider "zipping" to upload multiple files and/or folder(s). For more on zipping click here.
  4. Step 4 Uploading Files (con't.)
    1. Select your destination folder (your Group Name)
    2. Click Browse to locate your file
    3. Click Upload
  5. Step 5 Confirm File Upload
    1. Under your group name you should now see the file you just uploaded.
  6. Step 6 Optional Editing Features
    WebCT now has a built-in HTML editor. It is no longer is it necessary to exit WebCT in order to edit your web pages. By clicking on the name of the file (in this example index.html) and then clicking the HTML editor button, you can edit your web pages directly in WebCT.
