A common problem with Norton is a blank screen appearing. I would suggest disabling everything in Norton Internet Security except for Norton Antivirus.

Norton Internet Security 2003 - To disable the extra security, open your Norton program by double clicking the icon in your system tray at the bottom right of your screen, or by going to start, programs, Norton Internet Security.

WebCT does not work correctly with Ad (Pop-up Window) Blocking feature turned on

Situation:
You noticed that your WebCT program does not work correctly after you enabled the Pop-up Window Blocking feature for Norton Internet Security (NIS), Norton Personal Firewall (NPF), or Norton Internet Security Professional (NIS Pro).

Solution:
One of the Ad Blocking features of NIS and NPF is the Pop-up Window Blocking option. In some cases, enabling the Pop-up Window Blocking feature may cause your WebCT program to not work correctly because your WebCT program displays ad banners. In other cases, having Ad Blocking enabled may cause your WebCT to function improperly. To fix this, try configuring access for your WebCT site specifically, and then, if this does not work, disable Pop-up Blocking. If that does not work, disable Ad Blocking.

To configure NIS/NPF access for WebCT

1. Open NIS.
2. Click Ad Blocking > Configure > Advanced > Add Site button.
3. Type the sever names for your WebCT into the dialog box: mtsu36.mtsu.edu AND mtsu30.mtsu.edu
4. On the User Settings tab under Pop-up Ads, uncheck "Use ad blocking settings," and ensure that Permit is checked.
5. Perform step 4 for Cookies and Java applets as well.
6. Restart your computer.
