INFORMATION FOR MTSU STUDENTS SEEKING TO REGISTER FOR GUITAR PRIVATE INSTRUCTION

Thank you for your interest in the MTSU guitar program. Private instruction is generally available only to Music majors and minors. Students seeking to register for guitar instruction must audition, however, you may sign up for the guitar class I, MUS 1550 without auditioning. There are two sections, Hudson teaches fingerstyle and Abrams teaches the jazz class. Placement auditions for Guitar Class II and private instruction are on the first day of classes on 1/18/05 in the afternoon beginning at 1 pm. There will be a sign-up sheet on the door (SFA 214). Prepare one solo piece and be prepared to demonstrate reading ability. If you don't read music, Guitar Class MUS 1550 is recommended. Guitar classes MUS 1550 and MUS 1560 can be used toward fulfilling the private instruction requirement for Music Minors.
