* Congrats to MTSU Guitar grad Jimmy Moore who finished his Doctorate at FSU and is now Director of Guitar Studies at Manatee School for the Arts in Bradenton, FL.
* Congrats to MTSU Guitar graduate Silviu Ciulei who won the $1000 Fifth Prize in the Parkening International Guitar Competition at Pepperdine University, May 28-30. The triennial Parkening Competition is the preeminent guitar competition in the world, offering $65,000 in cash prizes. Silviu, age 23, was the only USA college student to win a prize in the 2009 Parkening International Competition.

* MTSU junior guitar student, Silviu Ciulei wins the $500 SECOND PRIZE at the Appalachian Guitar Competition in Boone, NC on Sun, April 15, 2007. This is the fourth consecutive year that an MTSU student or grad has won a prize in this competition.
* MTSU junior guitar student, Silviu Ciulei wins the $2000 SECOND PRIZE at the Texas International Guitar Competition in Dallas on Sat, March 24, 2007

* Congratulations to Silviu Octavian Ciulei, Romanian Guitarist and Georgescu Competition Winner. He has been awarded a full international scholarship to attend MTSU this fall as a freshman guitar performance major. This is the largest scholarship ever given to an MTSU music student.
