Mechanics: Statics, Dynamics, Theory of Elasticity, Strength of Materials, Plates and Shells, Numerical Methods in Engineering.

RESEARCH

The chief part of Dr. Melnikov's research activities is devoted to the construction of new and alternative representations for Green's functions and matrices of various boundary value problems for PDEs applicable in continuum mechanics. Since 1968, he has published over 200 works and made numerous presentations at national and international level.

SUPERVISING

  • Associate Chair/Chair of the Doctoral Qualification Committee at Dnipropetrovsk State University, Ukraine (1985 - 1991).
  • Supervised 10 Ph.D. Dissertations (1977 - 1991), 2 Dr.Sc. Dissertations (1990, 1991), and numerous Masters theses at DSU and MTSU (1973 - present).
